Cricket Betting Markets
These markets are most commonly used in BPL and IPL matches — a simple example of each is given below.
A bet on which team will win the match. Team A vs Team B — if you pick Team B and Team B wins, the bet is successful; if Team A wins, the bet loses.
Which team — Team A or Team B — will win the toss before the match starts. It helps to consider pitch conditions and team history when placing this bet.
Which player will score the most runs in an innings or across the whole match. You can predict in advance which batsman from Team A will score the most.
Whether the total runs in a match or innings will be more (Over) or fewer (Under) than a set number. Keep the pitch conditions and the team's batting form in mind.
How many runs will be scored in a specific over or during the powerplay session — a line is set. You can bet on whether Team A will cross that line during the powerplay.
How the next wicket will fall — bowled, caught, run out, LBW, etc. You can make an informed guess based on the bowler's style and the batsman's weaknesses.
A bet on which player will receive the best player award at the end of the match. The match result, along with the highest runs or wickets, also matters.
During the match, each wicket that falls increases the batting team's odds because their chances of winning decrease. The bowling team's odds then shorten because they are pulling ahead. If runs come quickly during the powerplay, the batting team's total runs market odds shorten.
